Dare2Dance

Following a Dare2Dance ‘Empowerment Day’ in their schools, interested girls can join the Hip Hop training course for 10 weeks.  Dare2Dance offers a chance for the girls to flex their creativity in a physical and demanding craft. Often attracting girls with disciplinary issues, the course and subsequent training provides a fun and structured environment.

Drawing from public schools around London, girls from various backgrounds come together to work towards end of term ‘battles’ and a chance to continue on with the Dare2Dance Academy. Budget cuts from the Arts Council has slimmed out the program, but many dedicated instructors and girls continue to meet each week to work on a routine with their team.

"Dance makes me, ME! It expresses how I’m feeling whether angry or happy. It’s like a best friend when I need it. It’s there, it understands me. I don’t know where I would be without it. It’s my passion and I love it." - India
