Mindfulness and yoga in an urban Baltimore elementary school.

Located just off North Avenue, blocks from the riots and notorious incident surrounding Freddie Gray, the Robert W. Coleman Elementary School and Holistic Life Foundation (HLF) partner to provide something out of the ordinary for the young students. Crime, systemic poverty and drugs encumber this area, leaving little space for to simply be carefree children. Currently catering to 120 pre-kindergarten to fifth graders at this school, the Holistic Life Foundation has been bringing mindfulness through the Holistic Me program for the past six years. Yoga and meditation sit at the heart of this after school program, offering the kids a place to recharge and giving them tools to find some peace in their young lives.
